Usually these people are in England (as the scale 00 is the most popular package) but there are also collectors around the world. Size 00 has been around for decades, which is one reason why has remained so popular for so long. This is also one of the reasons why people collect this scale (as there is so much history attached to it).
The benefits of collecting and operating 00 model trains are numerous. This article is going to cover some of the main reasons behind the decision to use this model to scale. As you know, there are now a number of steps that you can choose. This decision usually comes down to the space you have available. If you have the space to set up and operate a train gauge 00 Sep, then you should definitely test it out.
Size 00 is the scale are the most popular in England. This means that there are much produces for this scale than any other in the United Kingdom. If you live in the UK, then you will be able to find many more locomotives, automobiles, buildings and accessories that can be find the stairs of other model trains. Meccano (Paperback) $22.2 The origin of the name is uncertain but it is now over 100 years since Frank Hornby first used the word Meccano for the toy he invented to amuse his sons. Like the product it described, it is now known all over the world and has entered the dictionary as a term in common usage. Frank Hornby`s vision of an educational toy became the basis of perhaps the most successful British Toy manufacturer of the 20th century. Meccano`s success, which even surprised its inventor, supported the development of many other high quality products. As well as the famous Hornby trains and Dinky Toys, special purpose motor car and aeroplane construction sets have captivated the imagination of boys since the 1930`s. Using a wealth of colour illustrations Roger Marriott tells the story of Meccano, its development into a sophisticated range of parts and outfits embodying correct engineering principles, enabling boys of all ages to build models reflecting the technology of their time. For more than a century Meccano has amused several generations of boys, and a few girls, and encouraged many to become successful engineers. For many of the boys who grew up with Meccano it is still a fascinating way to "build a new toy every day", to create cranes, planes, trains, cars and many others, that really work to the enjoyment of their grandchildren and themselves. |

Juliet, Naked (Hardcover) $29.16 Nick Hornby`s breakthrough novel HIGH FIDELITY riffed on pop culture and masculinity with compassion and humor, as his deeply personal characters juggle real-life responsibilities with all-consuming musical geekiness. He returns to the similar terrain with JULIET, NAKED. Annie has given her best to her relationship with Duncan, but finally she`s had enough. There is not enough room in Duncan`s life for her–all his focus is on his all-consuming obsession with Tucker Crowe, a has-been singer-songwriter. As Juliet moves on with her life, she develops her own relationship with Tucker. Through these three characters, Hornby explores with his particular attention to detail what it means to be a real music fan, as well as offering a unique portrait of a struggling musician. But with an autobiographical edge that can only come from his own life experiences, he also looks at the areas of life that his Peter Pan-like male characters seem so afraid of–parenthood, responsibility, and the joys and fulfillment that growing up can offer. |

And what makes a life worth living? His answers aren’t what you might expect from a mental illness memoir—but they’re exactly what you’d expect from Ray Robertson. With the vitality of Nick Hornby and a brashness all his own, Robertson runs his hands over life, death, intoxication, and art. Unashamedly working-class and unabashedly literary,Why Not?is a rolling, rocking, anti-Sisyphean odyssey. |

Delicacy (Paperback) $20.98 Reminiscent of novels by Nick Hornby, Muriel Barbery, and Jonathan Tropper, internationally acclaimed novelist David Foenkinos delivers a heartfelt and deftly comedic tale of new love brightening the dark aftermath of loss—and of wounded hearts finding refuge in the strangest of places. After her husband’s unexpected death, Natalie has erected a fortress around her emotions—and Markus, clumsy and unassuming, will never be her knight in shining armor. Yet slowly but surely, an offbeat romance begins between these two mismatched, complex souls, and contrary to everything Natalie knows of affection, her perfect suitor may turn out to be love’s most unlikely candidate—the fool, not the hero, who is finally able to reach her heart. |

Yes Man (Paperback) $24.06 What would life be like if the word "no" didn`t exist? From such simple questions have cultish religions been formed, but British radio producer and journalist Danny Wallace here merely contents himself with an often hilarious and sometimes deceptively heartfelt tale of his experiences of a life lived–for a short while, at least–exclusively in the affirmative. Wallace, socially and emotionally adrift, hits on a way to change his circumstances when a stranger he sits next to on a bus suggests he simply say "yes" more. The many exciting and frequently odd avenues of possibility this life choice opens up, from penis enlargement patches to unscheduled trips to Australia, are wittily and engagingly related here in a down-to-earth manner often reminiscent of Nick Hornby, while Wallace slowly transforms before our eyes from a toast-munching, housebound middle-manager to a man who finds something approaching true love on the other side of the world. |

About a Boy – Widescreen (DVD) $14.38 ABOUT A BOY, directed by Chris and Paul Weitz, stars Hugh Grant as Will Freeman, a proudly self-absorbed 38-year-old Londoner. Living lavishly off the royalties from a hit Christmas song penned by his father, Will excels at nothing except doing nothing, which, in his case, includes shopping for CDs and having his hair "professionally disheveled." When Will makes a guilt-free exit from a brief fling with a single mom, he decides to crash a meeting of S.P.A.T. (Single Parents, Alone Together) in pursuit of more single mothers. This scheme leads to meeting Suzie (Victoria Smurfit) and Marcus (Nicholas Hoult), the socially awkward 12-year-old son of her flaky best friend, Fiona (Toni Collette). A series of odd situations leads to Will and Marcus becoming unlikely friends, and gradually both of their lives start to change for the better. However, when Will falls for the lovely Rachel (Rachel Weisz) and attempts to pass Marcus off as his son, things go awry. In order to win the heart of Rachel and make amends with Marcus, Will must finally grow up–and completely embarrass himself in front of hundreds of people.Reveling in its characters` quirks and flaws, ABOUT A BOY is a smart, funny, and fast-paced comedy, meticulously crafted by the Weitz brothers. Grant, in possibly the best performance of his career, wisely covers his patented charm with a shallow facade, and Hoult avoids being too cute or precocious; instead, the two actors develop believable characters that grudgingly warm up to each other. Collette is suitably bizarre as a depressed hippie mother, and Weisz provides excellent support in her relatively small role. However, it`s clear from the title that this film is about the boys. And that includes Badly Drawn Boy (aka Damon Gough) who contributes an outstanding soundtrack that recalls Simon and Garfunkel`s work on THE GRADUATE. Given Nick Hornby`s excellent source material, ABOUT A BOY could have easily been an enjoyable movie, but in the hands of its talent |

How Novels Work $32.81 Drawing on his weekly Guardian column, "Elements of Fiction," John Mullan offers an engaging look at the novel, focusing mostly on works of the last ten years as he illuminates the rich resources of novelistic technique. Mullan sheds light on some of the true masterworks of contemporary fiction, including Monica Ali`s Brick Lane, J.M. Coetzee`s Disgrace, Don DeLillo`s Underworld, Jonathan Franzen`s The Corrections, Mark Haddon`s The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Patricia Highsmith`s Ripley under Ground, Ian McEwan`s Atonement, John le Carre`s The Constant Gardener, Philip Roth`s The Human Stain, Jonathan Safran Foer`s Everything Is Illuminated, and Zadie Smith`s White Teeth. He highlights how these acclaimed authors use some of the basic elements of fiction. Some topics (like plot, dialogue, or location) will appear familiar to most novel readers, while others (meta-narrative, prolepsis, amplification) will open readers` eyes to new ways of understanding and appreciating the writer`s craft. Mullan also excels at comparing modern and classic authors–Nick Hornby`s adoption of a female narrator is compared to Daniel Defoe`s; Ian McEwan`s use of weather is set against Austen`s and Hardy`s. How Novels Work explains how the pleasures of novel reading often come from the formal ingenuity of the novelist, making visible techniques and effects we are often only half-aware of as we read. It is an entertaining and stimulating volume that will captivate anyone who is interested in the contemporary or the classical novel. |

The Sleepy Hollow Family Almanac (Paperback) $22.97 In the spirit of novels by Nick Hornby and Tom Perrotta, a smart, funny debut about a disillusioned young man whose fledgling leap from postadolescence to adulthood lands him back in an already overburdened family nest.Calvin Moretti can`t believe how much his life sucks. He`s a twenty-four-year-old film school dropout living at home again and working as an assistant teacher at a preschool for autistic kids. His insufferable go-getter older brother is also living at home, as is his kid sister, who`s still in high school and has just confided to Cal that she`s pregnant. What`s more, Calvin`s father, a career pilot, is temporarily grounded and obsessed with his own mortality. and his ever-stalwart mother is now crumbling under the pressure of mounting bills and the imminent loss of their Sleepy Hollow, New York, home: the only thing keeping the Morettis moored. Can things get worse? Oh, yes, they can.Which makes it all the more amazing that The Sleepy Hollow Family Almanac is not only buoyantly fun but often very, very funny. In this debut novel, Kris D`Agostino has crafted an engrossing contemporary tale of a loopy but loving family, and in Calvin Moretti, he`s created an oddball antihero who really wants to do the right thing?if he can just figure out what it is. |

Fever Pitch (Blu-ray Disc) $26.73 The Farrelly Brothers (THERE`S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY, DUMB & DUMBER) take a slight departure from their signature breed of over-the-top, gross-out humor and opt instead for sensitive restraint with this genuinely sweet love story. Credit is due in part to the writing team of Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel (SPANGLISH) who adapt Nick Hornby`s popular British novel, moving it to Boston and exchanging the protagonist`s obsession with soccer for an all-consuming love of baseball. Ever since his first childhood visit to Fenway Park, easygoing schoolteacher Ben (Jimmy Fallon) has been in love with the Boston Red Sox. When he meets a successful workaholic named Lindsey Meeks (Drew Barrymore), he warns her that being such an avid fan has been a problem in his past relationships. On the brink of turning 30, Lindsey is eager to make what seems like an otherwise promising romance work, and she agrees to go with Ben to opening day (of the eventful 2004 season when the Red Sox won the World Series for the first time in 86 years). As baseball season proceeds, the truly obsessive nature of Ben`s hobby is revealed, and a love triangle is set up in which baseball plays the role of the other woman. Lindsey`s feelings for Ben are put to the test again and again as his love for the game threatens to outweigh his feelings for her. While the film`s structure is pretty typical of a romantic comedy, FEVER PITCH offers quirky characters that ring true. Fallon and Barrymore display a genuine chemistry and Fallon proves (after leaving SNL) that he can pull off the romantic lead. With the exception of Yankee fans, FEVER PITCH should appeal to anyone who has ever really loved another person (or a pastime). |

High Fidelity (DVD) $24.32 A male-perspective confessional about being an adult–but not acting like one–HIGH FIDELITY is the story of Rob Gordon (John Cusack), the thirtysomething owner of Championship Vinyl, a record store in the suburbs of Chicago. Rob is in the throes of a difficult breakup with his girlfriend Laura (Iben Hjejle), and he creates a list of the ex-girlfriends who qualify as his Top Five Worst Breakups, then tracks them down one by one. At work, Rob's relationship with the geeky guys who help run the store, Dick (Todd Louiso) and Barry (Jack Black), is hilarious and juvenile: The three espouse encyclopedic knowledge of records while making lists of everything from the Top Five Side 1s and Track 1s to the Top Five Songs About Death. Director Stephen Frears works from a script based on the 1996 Nick Hornby novel of the same title, adapted by D.V. DeVincentis, Steve Pink, Cusack, and Scott Rosenberg. Frears integrates Cusack's signature goofball antics and gives him a series of talk-to-the-camera, Ferris Bueller-style monologues that Cusack delivers with personal ingenuity.DVD Features:Region 1Keep CaseLetterboxed – Anamorphic – 1.85Single Side – Dual LayerAudio: Dolby Digital 5.1 – English Dolby Digital 5.1 – FrenchAdditional Release Material: Production Interviews – 1.
