Perhaps two of the most challenging transformational leader will face beyond the development of personal skills and challenges in progress, that a leadership role inevitably bring, will build the confidence and power management.
The reason why these two areas are key, because if left unchecked, have a great influence the rate of success of a leader. Trust and power are linked directly to the individual leaders themselves, and therefore can be addressed directly, because the individual has the control over themselves. With a little 'feedback, guidance and perhaps coaching, there's a good chance that they will be able to get back on track. Let's look Each zone in a piece in greater detail.
Trust is absolutely essential to be an area where they have knowledge of an effective leader. Lubricates Trust communication, action, relationships, the Agreement and many other important areas. It takes a long time to establish and maintain confidence, and a few moments to destroy many years of invested energy, time and money. Although it is possible to regain the trust of someone, you can take a long time, and even then you can not regain the full measure of what we had before. Now that does not mean that it is not feasible, but that can be a difficult area to work, unless you have skills in this area.
If you are a manager, often people will do what you say because you are the boss, and people in a transactional leadership report. Unless do what you say, could face negative consequences. But if you are in a position of transformational leadership, people follow you because they choose, not because must. At any point a follower can choose to stop calling is their leader, then you no longer have authority over them, unless of course you happen to be their manager. Just because people are doing what you said to do, does not mean that they trust you, or that they see you as their leader.
This brings to the next area – the power. Someone once described power as the ability to act or to do something. We all have personal power, primarily through our choices and their actions. The measure of the strength of our strength depends on several factors, such as our presence and gravitas, our focus and discipline, and also the environment we are in power can be linked to authorities, as often is the authority you have, that gives you the power to create and achieve results sure. There are two main forms of authority – positional and personal.
Positional authority comes from a role that the person is in. An example might be a manager of a company, acting on behalf of society, and is given the power to take certain decisions. E 'with this force that the operator can go ahead and take action to get the results of the company. In a sense, power is borrowed from the organization and channeled through the manager. Exactly how power is direct and at the discretion of the manager ', leaving the door open to a certain amount of manipulation and perhaps corruption.
As a leader, the power comes from the people who lead, and personal authority. If you do not have people to lead, then you do not have the power to use in terms of getting achievements. Leader is about peoples trust, and when they do, who will act for you, and are therefore the power of the leader. When you are in a position where your followers give the power to act through them, you are in a place that can easily be abused. The term pseudo-transformational leader has been developed to describe a transformational leader who uses this power in an ethical manner the results aimed at personal gain, rather than the transformation, empowerment and improvement of the whole.
The leaders of successful transformation are excellent to build confidence and power management in a way that serves all. Transformational leadership can unlock the extraordinary potential in people, and so harness the enormous power to serve the objectives of the group, as an organization, but not at the cost of the world around them.
