Is America Killing us?

Have you ever looked at the ingredients on food packaging? Notice how many chemicals are put into our products? Why? In order to elaborate? Conservation? ETC? Most of these chemicals our bodies were not designed to digest for where they are putting them in our food? And, conveniently … pharmaceutical companies have a pill to cure what ails you! As convenient as the most of our health problems are caused by the chemicals they put in our products! Have alopecia or hair thinning? Did you know that a lot of shampoos have the same chemicals that are used to impalming corpses?!? Think that might have something to do with it?! YES! I could go on forever, but I want to know why they tolerate, and even make these companies that are hurting us sooo rich? Why do not we get to our health? Why do we just trust these so-called "experts"?

Well, where do I start? I do not want this to turn into an essay, so I'm going to be brief, precise and concise. The truth is that there are many, many things that can affect our health – and, to a large extent, many of those things, we are not able to stop it. A good example would be pollution in our environment. We just do not know what the effects of breathing polluted air can be long term, and it is something that a resident of city that you can not really do much. So we must be careful to put things in perspective here – what I'm trying to say is we should not be too paranoid all these things out there that are bad for us, because we must realize that the list is endless. Yes, I think as a country the food they eat is filled with all sorts of unhealthy things. I think the main reason for this is the case, America has developed what I call a "culture of convenience" – As a general rule, Americans want everything fast, we want to taste a certain way even if it is artificial and, of course, do not like it that way in nature, and we want that is convenient and fuss free. The fact is that this is not the way nature was necessarily should be: the human body through millions of years of evolution has not where is now obtained through microwave TV dinners. If we want to get somewhere quickly, we face essentially our approach to health and wellness to understand why is that we have today's problems.

Communities across the country have established designation programs whereby individual buildings or districts of historical-architectural significance are accorded landmark status. Designation activity has been accompanied by growing interest in other local incentives/disincentives to the support of historic buildings. In this regard, the property tax is viewed as either a possible powerful drawback to or a catalyst of preservation. This study examines the relationship between historic preservation and the property tax, focusing on the question of how designated buildings should be assessed for real taxation purposes. Listokin focuses on New York City in considering the effects of historic status on property value and in evaluating assessment practices. But this book`s findings are transferrable to other communities because the base conditions are similar. Many other cities have designation programs modeled on New York City`s. In addition, New York`s property-tax system and administrative processes resemble those found in communities across the nation.
