Eventually the old copper pipes for drinking water in the building to oxidize (or corrode) and pressurized water begins to leak out. So may have heard slab leak or leaks in walls, pipes, and replace the pipes is very costly and invasive.
Epoxy pipe lining is an alternative that works very well and is usually cheaper than the total cost of replacing the tube, which includes the cost of demolition and repair of all areas affected by substitution. It is used widely in Long Boat Key, Sarasota, Venice and Naples areas in Florida. Here's how it works:
First the tubes are sandblasted on the inside remove all the old landfill of oxidation. This is done by blowing air with silica particles dragged through the pipes. There is some "blow" the equipment upstream and "receiving" equipment downstream to catch the debris. Once the pipes are clean, the air is once again shot down the tube, but this time together with a liquid epoxy that hardens in a few hours.
The epoxy resin used is the same food-grade epoxy that you have seen the inside of cans of food, so it is perfectly safe for consumption. This coating epoxy pipe lining is ideal for drinking water pipes, as it is very thin and very tough. But it is difficult not necessarily make it stronger, how can you break with bearing applications, such as under the streets or footer wall. So Long Boat Key, Sarasota, Venice and Naples areas in Florida, is epoxy coated pipe is used mainly in building walls and floors, but not for relining sewer pipes.
You can re-line Orangeburg Pipe?
First let's start with what is Orangeburg pipe. Back in the Second World War all supplies of iron was directed towards the production of weapons, which means that a new material had to be developed for the hydraulics to replace the missing cast iron.
As a result a new material called "Orangeburg" consisting of wood fibers (such as paper), mixed with tar and was manufactured in Orangeburg, PA. This material was used to the sewers, millions of miles of it. It is estimated that Orlando and Tampa have 200,000 miles of pipe Orangeburg under their plans. Everything seemed OK with Orangeburg for a while ', but then some serious problems began to arise.
Solvents such as nail polish remover, paint thinner and alcohol that has gone down the drain would melt the tar, while weakening the sewer pipe. Usually the bottom of the tube would go first. The sewer pipe inspection video, the bottom of the pipe sewer Orangeburg seemed to swell up. These bulges create drains blocked as debris is captured in these areas.
The next problem in common with the exhaust pipe Orangeburg is root intrusion. Root intrusion cast iron pipes and sewer pipes of clay (VPC) usually occurs in broken or cracked pipe areas. But with Orangeburg pipe, the roots of trees grow straight through the walls pipes everywhere, blocked drains and creating backups. Video tubes with Orlando and Tampa shows an egg shaped oval cross-section of these tubes created by the load on top of the tube flattened over time.
Orangeburg pipe can be re-aligned, but tube rupture is most commonly used, in which A new pipe is pulled through the cavity with an old pipe has tapered "head" that breaks the old pipe to make room for the hose again pulled back in place for replacement tube.
