Painted People
Unlike other types of paintings such as landscapes, portraits, paintings based on historical or religious themes, the genre paintings depicting the life of common people.
When an artist takes the genre painting brush and color-palate loaded in hand, he or she has great imagination in mind. These artists do not paint dramatic scenes and memorable large events. Neither is trying to idealize the great virtues that had occupied canvases of painters in the past. They put the emphasis on display and in detail the activities of the laity. In Western countries, the painting of those simple tasks, such as a milkman work home or working a lathe in his shop, had never been subjects of art.
The genre paintings are products of a shrewd observer of the artists' paintings of scenes or people in their canvases. In these paintings you can see the men who affecting their land, the shoemakers doing their job, or household doing their daily work. Not wearing theatrical costumes or impressive, they just put their ordinary clothes they wear at work or do the rest.
Interesting aspect is the choice of subjects to paint. Genre Painters choose their subjects from ordinary life of people common and their manifestations. Domestic life of men and women and the activities of the agricultural sector provided arguments for the many masterpieces. The scenes of dance, people who enjoy their festivals occasionally, and the fold musicians who play the music: these are the main issues that the genre painters painted repeatedly.
