Operating Instructions
Human is considered as an element of the system, the ratio of which is represented by the model of the human machine. The simplest model of a man-machine consists units of an individual operator working with a single machine. In every system of the machine, the human operator must first sense what is referred to as a display the machine, a signal that tells you something about the condition or operation of the machine. A display may be the position of a pointer on a line, a flashing light on a control panel, the reading of a digital computer, the sound of an alarm bell or a spoken command issuing from a loudspeaker.
Having sensed the display, the operator interprets it, maybe do some math, and reaches a decision. In this way, the employee can use a number of capacity human, including the ability to remember and to compare current perceptions with past experiences, to coordinate strategies with perceptions formed in the past, and to extrapolate perceptions and past experiences to solve novel problems, which is entirely called 'information processing'.
After reached a decision, the human operator usually requires some action. This action is usually performed on some kind of control, a button, lever, crank, pedal switch or knob. Action on one or more of these controls influence on the machine and its production, which in turn changes the display, in so that the cycle is repeated continuously.
A man-machine does not exist in isolation but in a context that influence the formation of the operator, efficiency and performance. Humans make mistakes. An error is a difference between desired and actual performance. This is because engineers often have to design systems so as to reduce or, preferably, to avoid the effects of error, whether unintentional or not. One type of error is human error for which the engineering system is applied to minimize this type of error, making the systems more forgiving or error tolerant. In the training and were Overtraining identified as major sources of errors in a system that go unnoticed for some time until the right set of circumstances that arises induce them to become active.
Some of the most challenging and complex human problems arise in designing large systems and human machine for the integration of human operators (with different sizes in terms level of training) in these systems. Examples of such large systems are a modern jet airliner, an industrial plant, a nuclear submarine, and the launch of a spacecraft and system recovery. In the design of such systems, human factors engineers to study, in addition to all the considerations mentioned above, three factors: personnel, training, and operational procedures.
In larger systems, as before, the specific requirements of staff, particularly aspects of training is an integral part of systems design.
Personnel are trained, ie, they are given information and appropriate skills required to operate and maintain the system. System design includes the development of training techniques and programs and often extends to the design devices training aid and training.
Instructions, operating procedures and rules set out the duties of each operator in a system and specify how the system can work. Tailoring to the needs of the system operating rules and the people in it contributes significantly to the safety, orderly and efficient operations. Reciprocally negative effects (for lack of proper training) could be devastating.
Machine and wear is a critical element in any environment production that makes products for which the result produced or final assembly can be adversely affected by machine tools or worn. There is a relationship direct relation between the wear and the level of training of operators.
While manufacturers can deploy systems to monitor the quality of the product that is produced, which automatically rejects objects do not conform to the production line, this ensures only the voice does not end up in the market with consequent dissatisfaction of consumers. In these cases, the operator with an education may have contributed a greater share of wear in machinery due to lack of knowledge in the use of machinery.
