Hi I just set up an online movie rental business and would like to know what is the best form of marketing.?
The market that I want to target is the Republic of Ireland (26 counties)and the website is dvds direct.ie I have tried some newspaper advetising and flyers.Basically what I want is the cheapest and most effective way to market the service.
You can start a local offline/online forum discussing major movie releases and invite people to become members. (Free passes & special screenings are a way to get members excited about your business.)
Divide the forum into different areas — horror, comedy, dark noir, Irish classics — just as you would in a regular DVD rental store.
Newspaper classifieds are still among the cheapest ways to advertise a new business. You can combine it with radio advertising and word-of-mouth to get the ball rolling. Good luck!
