Container on a floor?
A railway platform is loaded with crates. The coefficient of static friction between the crates and the floor is 0.25. If the train moves 53.0 kilometers per hour, as the short distance the train can be stopped with a constant acceleration without causing the crates to slide?
The cages can not be simply sitting on a floor without some sort of restraint, the actual load to the bottom of the box on the floor will be the bulk of the cash multiplied by gravity downwards, more component of the restraint. Thus, the strength to resist provided by friction between the crate and the floor will exceed 0.25 x mass x gravity of the case. 0.25 It is likely a high coefficient of friction in terms of train braking (lock brake wheel, and wheel to rail), it is safe to assume the cash does not move. Forgetting everything foregoing, and return to your basic question: 53km/hr = 14.7222m / s Gravity = 9.81m / s ^ 2 maximum deceleration of the train = region of 0.25g = 2.4525m / s ^ 2 The time taken to stop by 14.7222m / s at a rate of deceleration 2.4525m / s ^ 2 = 6.003s Distance traveled in going from 53km/hr to 0km/hr in 6.003s = (53000/3600) / 2 * 6.003 = 44.185m freight trains do not stop at 53km/hr in a small distance, braking force is much lower than 0.25.

Cognitive Load $44.61 Cognitive load is a term that refers to the load on working memory during instruction. Instruction may be aimed at teaching learners problem solving skills, thinking and reasoning skills (including perception, memory, language, etc.). Many would agree that people learn better when they can build on what they already understand (known as a schema), but the more a person has to learn in a shorter amount of time, the more difficult it is to process that information in working memory. Consider the difference between having to study a subject in one’s native language versus trying to study a subject in a foreign language. The cognitive load is much higher in the second instance because the brain must work to translate the language while simultaneously trying to understand the new information. Another aspect of cognitive load theory involves understanding how many discrete units of information can be retained in short term memory before information loss occurs. An example of this principle that seems to be commonly cited is the use of 7-digit phone numbers, based on the theory that most people can only retain seven "chunks" of information in their short term memory. |
