Forex trading systems are hot, you see everywhere – all promising you big gains. The vast majority fail to deliver and the reason is â € œcurve € fitting. If you donâ € ™ t know what to read.
Definition
Interpolation is using past data and bends the rules of the system to fit the data and make it profitable.
Because the rules of the system have been bent on a snapshot of past data (keep in mind the markets repeat exactly) is curve fitted and is likely to lose in trading in real time.
This is really like shooting at the door of a barn with a gun and then drawing a bulls-eye around the POI shots, making all the bulls eyes!
Hypothetical Illusions
The fact is that most forex trading systems donâ € ™ t have a track record in real time, have only one made in hindsight.
Now, make money in hindsight is easy, especially if you curve fit, but obviously without knowing the trading closing prices is much more difficult!
Most system vendors I know there forex systems donâ € ™ t work and are based on curve fitting and advertisers to sell their systems â € hyped and then the forex dealer clears out and wonders why!
You take a loss and the seller makes a guaranteed return of sale system of garbage that even non-commercial themselves!
So how do you Spot Curve Fitting?
Well when you see a hypothetical track record, both on guard straight away and look for the following:
1. A lot of indicators and a lot of different rules (often with different rules and parameters for currency)
2. Waiting for a track record with an impressive growth and in the absence sampling.
A system that shows the curve described above will be mounted.
Dona € ™ t Fall For The Hype
Really you shouldn € ™ t bother trading forex trading systems that use hypothetical track record, but if you want to examine the logic, rules and parameters closely.
Many suppliers also keep their secrets and rules and parameters Donà ™ € t even tell you what they are – Dona € ™ t even consider these â € œblack € boxing systems. most times they just make the track record up.
For some reason Forex traders take hypothetical records seriously, but in reality not worth anything unless you can study and see their curve is not fitted and I think most of them are!
Game saved
Sellers who have to use hyped advertising copy and a hypothetical track record generally donâ € ™ t have a product to be considered â € "only deal with suppliers forex trading systems that can back their claims with a real track record are more than 2 years or more.
After all â € "If you donâ € ™ t have the courage to trade your system and show that it's worth why would you?
Would you take driving lessons from someone who could not demonstrate that could drive? Exactly.
The next time you plan to buy a system of Forex Trading, check it out, and chances are fitted to the curve and this makes you odds on to lose, if you use it.
