At the 2006 Tokyo Motor Show, Nissan has introduced the concept version of the supercar Nissan GT-R. During this event, the Japanese car manufacturer announced that the version Production of the GT-R will be made available by the end of this year as a 2008 Car Model year. While the United States market will certainly be honored by car presence of the GT-R, the Australian industry is still waiting if the supercar will be released in the country or not.
The recent news from Nissan has reported that the GT-R will be launched officially at this year's Tokyo Motor Show. During this event, the third largest Japanese car manufacturer will announce whether the GT-R will be issued in the Land Down Under or not. Nissan Australia general manager Ross Booth said he hopes that the supercar will be released in the Australian market cars.
"I still have my hands on GT-R, "says Booth." Hopefully in the coming months he will get to know and put together a case where you can get the vehicle. I think it would be very positive for our brand in Australia, "he added further.
Part of the GT-R, the Australian car market is also waiting for the entry of new Nissan X-Trail, Micra, and the Dualis, which is also known as the Nissan Qashqai. "There will be plenty of interest in Australia for the GT-R, but does not detract from the local launches," Booth says regarding the entry of car models in Australia. "There's so much demand for information on GT-R that what I'd do if we bring in, is to give an indication of when, "he added.
The concept of the GT-R is defined as the GT-R Proto and is the direct descendant Nissan Skyline GT-R, which has captured the attention of performance enthusiasts. The GT-R even if it will be a plate separate the body and his style is unique compared other Nissan vehicles. His Nissan hood resembles that of a Bugatti Veyron that is only the GT-R a sight to watch according to some performance car fans.
The specifications for the production of GT-R has not yet been announced by Nissan Although there are words going on across the sector on the car's engine supercar. Appears that Nissan will give the GT-R, with a 3.8 liters-twin-turbo V6 with transmission range between a six-speed manual and an automatic transmission. The estimated power of the engine has 482 horsepower and a track "version" that will have the capacity to produce 530 horses.
With the raw power and good looks of the Nissan GT-R, Booth is concerned about the price tag, which will come with the GT-R. "We need to be a little 'attention the Nissan brand with the fact that you do not want to be selling cars in $ 200,000-plus, "said Booth."
