Look out for these red flags
- Resentment
I worked for a company who managed the relationships lost or stolen credit cards. I do not know how many times someone has called and said their former or soon to be ex-husband stole all their financial information and went on a spending spree revenge.
Certainly it is not limited to ex-husbands and wives, but the anger is a feeling powerful. Familiarity obvious, the total access to private information combined with the desire to do more damage can make this the most devastating form of identity theft financially and emotionally.
No matter what the relationship, keep an eye on your credit and other financial information.

The people you ask too many questions are very personal. It's easy not to think nothing of it.The person may be a close relative or close friend, but ask (and their) because they need to know your date of birth or social? You can also catch them snooping through your personal data.
Now you might all be perfectly innocent, but with identity theft the number one crime for the fifth year in a row, do you really want to take this chance?
3.Addiction
"I have no drug addicts in my family." Good deal, but drug addicts are not the only people who steal from you. Alcoholics, people addicted to porn, even compulsive shoppers are potential identity thieves.
Gambling and pornography on the Internet are billion dollar industries. According Jim Vaules, an expert on identity theft for Lexis Nexis, "You see a lot of Internet gambling and pornography sites against stolen cards. [Identity Thieves] could use the card of a family member or friend "
Any kind of obsessive behavior normally rational decision can throw a person out of window, because the only thing that matters is to satisfy the habit NOW!
Addiction also means more than likely that the identity thieves can and must justify their actions. Although catch them red-handed, its very possible they will say its not their fault, blame it on you or just stand up shoulders and say "so what?"
What to do in cases like this? File a police report may not be a bad idea.

Even if the addict apologized profusely and swore not to do it again (quite common), the odds are high they will do so again unless they get some advice. Filing a police report no matter how reluctant you may be a step in that direction.
There are of course other symptoms. Someone living above their means, or e-mail that looks like its been tampered with. Identity theft requires constant vigilance, with credit monitoring, storage of private information in safe places, shredding documents, etc.
If identity theft happens to you, the best addition to recovering your identity will be the peace of mind to realize that it was not yours.

The material for this book was gathered over a long period of time as a lawyers hobby. Edward Weston $16.16 A seminal figure in the history of photography, Edward Weston (1886-1958) began his long and colorful career in Southern California. Among the more than fifty prints gleaned from the Getty Museum’s important collection of approximately 240 works that span the photographer’s career, this book features pictures made in Claremont, Glendale, Los Angeles, Santa Monica, and other locations in California and the U.S. Weston wed machine-age aesthetics with vernacular subjects, pursuing Modernism as a way of seeing. He produced works of art using subject matter as wide-ranging as sea shells, green peppers, sand dunes and nudes, and he set a standard for elegant composition and print technique for generations of photographers to come. Commentaries on each of the featured works, as well as an introduction and chronology, are provided by Brett Abbott, curatorial assistant in the Getty Museum’s Department of Photographs. A colloquium discussion on the artist’s work includes Abbott’s contributions as well as those of six other participants: photographer William Clift; Amy Conger, author of Edward Weston: Photographs from the Collection of the Center for Creative Photography; David Featherstone, a freelance writer and editor; Weston Naef, curator of photographs at the Getty Museum; David Travis, curator of photography at the Art Institute of Chicago; and Jennifer Watts, curator of photographs at the Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens in San Marino, California. |
