The Detroit Diesel Series 110, with 110 cubic centimeters of displacement per cylinder; was introduced in 1945 as a more powerful alternative to the current 71 Series engines. E 'was used in a variety of applications, including material construction and production of electricity. The most popular use was in itself Budd RDC-powered Railroad Car. E 'was also widely used in construction Euclid machines. In 1951 a marine version was also introduced.
Overview
The Detroit Diesel Series 110 is a series of two-stroke cycle diesel engines, available inline six-cylinder configuration (in line with the practice standard Detroit Diesel, at the time, the engines have been subjected to a concatenation of using the number of cylinders and displacement, and this has been a model 6-110). It was introduced as the second product in the mass market for Detroit Diesel Engine Division of General Motors in 1945.
Series motors Use 6-110 uniFLOW scavenging, where a fan mounted to the outside of the engine supplies air sucked through the engine block core passages and doors in walls of cylinder to a level slightly higher than atmospheric pressure. The engine exhaust through push-rod poppet valves in the cylinder head, with two or four valves per cylinder. Unit fuel injection is employed, one injector per cylinder, without the pressure of high fuel outside the body of the injector. The injectors are cycling from tree to cam itself is responsible for opening the exhaust valves.
As a two-stroke cycle diesel engine can not naturally aspirated, or draw in its air Intake staff, the fan is necessary to provide the air in quantities sufficient for both evacuation of exhaust gases from the cylinder and to support combustion. Initials 6-110 versions of the engine used a centrifugal compressor type. This was very practical for fixed speed applications, such as marine or a body of the generator, but have proved a failure in automotive applications. "The engine has been developed on the bench and has never been operated on previously rated RPM. The first question was Euclid trucks in mines, where income depends on how fast the driver drives the truck down into the empty pit. The centrifugal fan was running at about 10 times the speed engine. Above that RPM was fatal, and a truck climbing a single loss could mean an engine failed. "For this reason, a Roots-type blower is been made available as an option, after about 1952. Later versions are available with high-performance turbochargers.
The initial series of 71 engines are Detroit Diesel were produced in 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 – and 6 – cylinder versions. The most powerful version, the 6-71, displaced 426 cubic inches and produced 170 hp at 1800 rpm. While these engines with the their relatively low cost and light have been very successful, there was also a great demand for more power, especially for non-highway applications, such as generating energy and construction.
Since the engines in line more than 6 cylinders tend to have significant technical problems, and because GM technology was not perfect V-block engine for another decade, have taken two divergent approaches to achieve greater power. One was to couple together multiple engines 6-71 twin (side-by-side), tandem (front-and aft) and the incredible Quad (four 6-71S all driving a single tree). While this produced high-power and also added some redundancy, were mechanically complex and relatively expensive.
The alternative approach was to design a new engine and increase the displacement of 71 cubic inches to 110 inches of existing cubic, or about an increase of 50%. While the basic components of the engine (block, crankshaft, pistons, etc.) were all new, many of the additional components (injectors, governors, accessories, marine equipment) were simply shared with the Series 71 engines. Since the 6-110 is was designed from the outset to heavy high power applications, has never been produced in a four-cylinder version (which would have moved 440 cubic inches, much Close to 426 displaced persons from CI 6-71).
The introduction of the V-71 series in 1957, convicted in effectively 6-110, since both the 8-71 (728 cubic inch displacement) and 12-71 (852 cubic inch displacement) offered the highest in more horses compact form factor. However, the high torque and high reliability of 6-110 was still valued for applications Heavy-duty.

Billy Budd, Sailor $10.18 Unpublished in Melville`s lifetime, BILLY BUDD is considered one of his greatest works. It began as a ballad, but grew into a short novel with an ambiguous plot that raises more questions than it answers, about good and evil, justice and injustice.
